Google withdraws Adsense Referrals

Google is retiring from its Adsense referrals program and requests everyone to do the following two steps before the last week of August.

1) Remove the referral code from your site(s): Please take a moment to remove all referral code from your sites before the last week of August, so you can continue to effectively monetize your ad space.

2) Run and save all referrals reports on your desktop: Create and save all reports related to the referrals program on your desktop, so you continue to have access to your valuable campaign information.

Earlier today, Google launched an affiliate ad network. Or, rather, it rebranded Performics, the affiliate ad network that came along with its purchase of DoubleClick, as the“Google Affiliate Network.”As with other affiliate networks such as Amazon’s, participating Website publishers get paid a fee for each referral that results in a sale. Existing advertisers include Bank of America, Barnes & Noble, Citi, Target, and Verizon.

Google is also insisting you to update your adsense account to Google account as a compulsary step

Yeah... Google has already acquired doubleclick. Hope this would end up in benefiting web publishers.
